Clone Not working

Hello

I am attempting to clone my .vdi in order to increase the volume as I am running out of room. My .vdi has snapshots (unfortunately), which I was able to remove most with the gui successfully. When I cone via the command line, the new cloned volume is reflective of an old snaphot.

I need a single .dvi so that I can resize the .vdi

I have been working on this all week, and really need help ! :(

VBoxManage clonehd "C:\Users\Frank\VirtualBox
VMs\Windows Server 2008 (64 Bit)\CloneWindows2008.vdi" "C:\Users\Frank\VirtualB
ox VMs\Cognos_10.2_SQL_SERVER_2008\Cognos_10.2_SQL_SERVER_2008.vdi" --existing

Don't use VBoxManage, use the "Clone" feature of the GUI instead, i.e. right click VM, select "Clone".

The mistake you are making with "VBoxManage clonehd" is that it's the latest snapshot you should be cloning, not the base VDI, as the latter contains the oldest recorded state of the VM.

Ok, so I successfully cloned my orginal snpashots into one single .vdi. Booted up and all is well.

When I use clonevdi to clone and add space it damages my windows files. Tried it twice and both times my windows files were damaged and I received Windows errors that files were damaged :-(

Thanks
