Using USB with virtualbox

Post by kosstenzer »

I managed to make a virtualbox win xp sp3 under host win 7 64
The one and only reason using a virtualbox is my old remote control.
A Philips pronto pro 980 (= tsu 7000)
This one only works under win xp 32 (or older)

I hoped I could keep it on track without my old win XP laptop.
But it won't work under virtualbox.
It misses USB drivers (witch don't exist)

Is there a solution?
Is there a way to access one USB port like win xp does as not virtual OS?
Witch information do you need from me to help me to solve this problem?

If there is non solution for win 7 64 host, would there be a possibility using Debian wheezy as host?

What does that mean? There was never drivers for this thing, or they have been mislaid? If the latter then search the internet for them. If that fails then no, there is nothing you can do.
