Windows Host Only Has Partial Access to Linux Guest

Post by catalyst156 »

I have a Windows 7 host (running Virtualbox v4.1.18) with a Linux guest (Redhat Enterprise) running a web server.

Once the host is on the network I can access the server from other computers without issue. However, I cannot seem to access it from the host. It appears to partially connect and then hang. I'm running the Play Framework on the server and on my entry page I get the HTML title to load and then nothing else UNTIL I kill the Play application at which point some of the page loads.

The network settings for the VM:
Adapter 1:
Bridged
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
Intel PRO/1000 T Server Adapter
Deny Promiscuity
Cable Conencted

Any ideas? Thanks.

Do you use the same IP from the other machines than from the host itself?

No, the Windows host and Linux guest are using separate IPs on the internal network.

Update:
I've been using the bridged connection with a hardwired connection. I switched to wireless this morning and now it's working. So it would seem that there is something wrong with my own adapter settings on one side or the other.
