Hi All,
I was searching now for some hours some more information (HowTos, etc) for my request but did not find anything appropriate. Hopefully, you guys have something for me.Here what I would like to achieve:
- Having one central server system in my living room
- Multiple Clients Notebooks, Desktops having access to this server system through a Network Share
- Providing multiple VDI files (windows7, Windows XP and linux distributions) through the network share
- and having my multiple clients accessing these files through the network (ideally through a networking boot ?) and a locally installed copy of virtualbox with the different VM machines
Is this possible ?
What is the best methodology ? PXE boot ? Accessing the drive via network share and running the machine through the network share ?
Thanks,
wassilaras

Re: Boot from Network Share
PXE boot is supported, as is locating your VDI files on a server shared folder. I would expect both to be gob-smackingly slow compared to local hdd access, so "best" is probably beside the point.
