Post by sayachit »

Hi,

I would like to change the hostname of Oracle Linux VM to be able to proceed on installations.

Currently it is having a value localhost.localdomain

Can someone guide me how I can achieve it. say I would like hostname to be 'sayachit'.

This is out of scope of this forum. I would suggest you search for this on Google - you will find many howtos.

I tried to change the /etc/sysconfig/network file giving new value to HOSTNAME, which I got through google search.

Being VM users, I felt here I can get a best way to deal with it as people might have experienced id already.

Thanks...
Sreeram.
