VM with Host-Only Network Won't Start

I encountered this issue now with several versions of virtualbox 4.2 on windows 8 after upgrading / reinstalling/ uninstalling many times. I have 2 host only adapters that are named the same in virtualbox preferences -> network adapters. After much frustration, I figured out that you can add another host only adapter in the preferences, and reconfigure your network settings to use that. The new adapter doesn't get duplicated. The old one still doesn't work, but at least I have a working host only network again. Hope this helps!

delete host only adapter and recreated one
