[Solved] Linux guest does not start after Yum update
Posted: 2. Apr 2013, 09:02
Hi,
I have an Oracle Linux Server 6.3 guest which runs on a Windows 7 Ultimate host.
Yum updates have always worked fine in the past, until, yum update to Linux version 6.4.
After I ran yum update on the Linux guest, I shutdown the Linux guest at the end.
The next day, I tried to start the Linux guest, and it would not start. The Linux boot goes through the initial start up, an expanding progress bar appears at the bottom of the guest screen (which is red colored) and once it completes, it turns to bright white and then to low intensity white and then it never goes past that point.
I have tried powering down and restarting several time and the startup does not go past the same point.
Do you have any recommendations how to fix this problem?
Thanks!
Kourosh
