Problems after memory upgrade

I am using VB 4.2.8 r8387 on W7 with 4Gig of memory. Everything was working fine. Today I upgraded to 16Gig. Note that I have shut down all of my VM's. I changed my memory back to 4Gig and it is now working ... so this has something to do with upgrading to 16Gig.
Does anyone know what I can to about this?

What is the problem? You don't say anything about it...

Oops, I must have deleted that when I was refining my question ... The problem is that all items in the right pain of Settings were gray after I upgraded my memory to 16Gig.

what items? Did you get a specific error message? Are you unable to start the VMs again? Is it all your VMs or only specific ones?
You really need to provide more information here... Unless you explain clearly and properly what the problem is, and the exact verbatim error you are getting, there is nothing we can do to help you here...

Everything under Settings. I could select different items on the left but all settings were gray and I could not change them.

I found a workaround. I reconfigured the laptop to 4Gig, then changed the memory size in VB Settings to the max that would allow the OK button to be enabled. Then I changed the laptop memory to 8Gig and found that the VB settings were no longer gray. Then I slid the VB memory size to 4Gig. Then I changed the laptop memory to 16Gig and everything thereafter was fine.
There may be an easier workaround but that is what worked for me.

Sounds like your VMs were in a saved state - not properly shut down.

No, I double checked that. Each was shut down. In fact I never even changed the state of the VM's when I was trying my workaround.
