CentOS 6.4 - GNOME is not loading

hello all.
after updating to CentOS 6.4 from 6.3 GNOME is not loading, but still I can login using virtual console.
Host: MS Windows 7 32-bit
Guest: CentOS 2.6.32-358.2.1.el6.i686
VBox: 4.2.8
upgrading VBox from 4.2.8 to 4.2.10 does not help.
any ideas? thanks in advance.

Try disabling 3d support on VM settings, this works for me

may be it's related to a bug in the linux guestadditions which yields to that the OpenGL support modules can't be build for RHEL6.4 and clones guests, you should have a look at

Doing non-kernel setup of the Guest Additions [ OK ]
You should restart your guest to make sure the new modules are actually used
Installing the Window System drivers
Installing X.Org Server 1.13 modules [ OK ]
Setting up the Window System to use the Guest Additions [ OK ]
You may need to restart the hal service and the Window System (or just restart
the guest system) to enable the Guest Additions.
Installing graphics libraries and desktop services componen[ OK ]
