Strange problem connecting from Host OS to Guest

Hello

I have a strange problem.
I have a Windows host and a Linux guest. I want to be able to access the guest from host so I added a network adapter and set it to "host only adapter" .
I then activate the adapter from the guest OS and for a moment everything looks good: I am able to connect guest from host with ssh, ping it etc.
But after I restart the guest system I cannot connect to it anymore. All the settings seem to remain the same but I cannot ping or connect it.

Please tell me what am I doing wrong...

what IP are you trying to ping from the guest to contact the host?
