Folder Sharing between Win XP Guests

Post by Alphacentauri »

Hi,
i have several windows xp guests in my virtualbox landscape.

The communication between host and guests is no problem. I simply use the vbox folder sharing options...

but how can i give guest A access to a specific folder in guest B?

I cannot define a shared folder. I must have access to an existing folder from guest A --> guest B

with kind regards

Use network sharing, requires Bridged mode, host-only, or internal.
See chapter 6 in your VirtualBox users manual.

As Perry pointed out, to share files between XP machines you use Windows file sharing. It really makes no difference whether they are physical or virtual machines. As long as they are in the same network and the same workgroup, it makes no difference. I have Windows machines, virtual and physical, happily sharing files.

The only way VirtualBox is at all involved is in the network settings to make sure that the vms are in the same network.
I use bridged mode so that all machines, including the host, are in the same network and all use standard Windows file sharing.
