Installing OS

Post by GarySGP »

Hi,

Forgive me for this really basic question whose answer is somehow eluding me.

I've got my VM set up and running
(I think - I get the following error message when loading - "VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Certain guests (e.g. OS/2 and QNX) require this feature and will fail to boot without it."
and the screen looks like a dos screen (screenshot attached)

and the manager shows MAC OS (screenshot attached)

.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get the OS actually installed since my PC won't read the MAC disks and the Virtual Machine doesn't seem to be able to read my drive as I discovered when I simply tried to install the software I am trying to use. When I first downloaded VB I thought I saw a free MAC OS download somewhere and cannot find it now so I am trying to use the OS X install disks from someone else's computer.

Help?

Thank you so much in advance!

You need a VT-x/AMD-V function to be enabled on your host and vm settings.
Not all hardware support VT-x/AMD-V.
Make sure your hardware support VT-x/AMD-V.

I see you are running on a Windows XP host.

Please read: Important notice regarding Mac OS X as Guest.
