internet connection VM windows XP challange

Hi,

Looking for help as I tried a lot from the suggestion in other topics, but I get no results.

My operation system (host) is Windows 7
Guest is Windows XP.
Oracle VM virtualbos manager version is 4.2.8 r83876

I converted a VMware file to oracle VM as I had problem with shared files in VMware.
Problem is now that I have to "activate" my windows XP and as I got this virtual machine file from a friend I do not know the serial code /although I found one on the internet) and I still cannot activate it as I cannot connect to the internet.

I made a little document which describes my problem and I tried to attach it but that does not

In the window for the virtual machine there is a small green (and sometimes red) light burning at the connection symbol (2 pc screens between the USB and shared folder symbol), but no internet connection though.

I have only activate Adapter 1
Bridge adapter: Intel 82579LM gigabit network connenction
Adapter type Inter pro /1000 MT desktop
Promiscuous Mode: allow All
MAC address: same for manager and both virtual machines (where different before)

Tried for several days now, please help





Any suggestion what to change/add to get this working? Must I change in the virtual machine (guest) stuff or only in the host?

No infos, only "does not work". Not very helpfull.

OK:

Host-OS?
VBOX version?
Log file (VBOX gui, select guest, right mouse button, show log).

How does the host connect to internet? (WLAN (PCI/USB), Ethernet, Modem)

Could you explain the log file a bit more specific? VBOX gui means?

The VBOX Graphical User Interface. The Program, thats lists the guest, where you create new guests and start existing.

I would call 1 800 785-3448 and tell them your problem. I bet they can help you .

strangly enough was the windows XP running without any problems (read not asking for activation) in VMware. Any reason why this comes up in Oracle VM Virtualbox?

In any case piracy is not discussed here.
