Fedora 64 bit option missing in VirtualBox 4.2.8 for Windows

Post by Nayana Adassuriya »

Hi
Yesterday I installed `VirtualBox 4.2.8 for Windows hosts x86/amd64` in my windows 7, 64 bit computer. I downloaded `Fedora 18` 64 bit version and try to create a VM. but i haven't worked, So I found VirtualBox missing Fedora 64 bit option in version list. Then I downloaded the fedora 32 bit version and it works fine. So, any help to create 64bit fedora 18 VM with virtual box?
Thank you

If you do not have (or it is not enabled in bios) hardware virtualization you will not be able to run 64 bit guests and the 64 bit option will not be available in the selection.

I concur with PerryG, just checked my own PC and Fedora 64bit shows up on it. Check your host's BIOS settings.
