Using Virtual box as a multipoint

Post by gert »

HI all

Please help me with this problem.
Can I use VBox to act as a host for 4 users to connect simultaneously to one Vbox machine ( host ) . Similar to the Multipoint server of windows.

My problem is this
I have to setup one Vbox host and add 3 monitors, 3 keybords and 3 mouse to one machine so that 4 users can use the Virtual desktop as if each user has a machine on its own.
Is this possible at all , so that the 4 users don't interact with each other.

would a zero client work here? if so which one ? or can we just get a usb hub for the additional keyboards and mouse. Then i worry about the additional 3 monitors.

If this is possible please please assist me with the setup of this to work correctly.
Obviously I will need a machine that will be able to handle the processing power and memory. This is no problem.

Your urgent help will be appreciated.
Regards

Not really. Multipoint server is related to terminal services, not to Microsoft's virtualization software. It is virtual desktop setup rather than virtual machine.

If you want a cheap alternative to Multipoint Server you would be better off looking at a Linux virtual desktop implementation like Userful Multiseat Linux.
