Two OS, same virtual hard drive

Hi.
I need to test some GRUB2 features, but I don't want to do it in my computer 'cause I don't want to SPAM_SEARCH it up, so I think the better solution is to install two OS in the same virtual hard drive (Fedora 18 and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS). I was wondering if it's possible to do it this way, and if I'll have any trouble running GRUB or something. I tried to do it this evening with Ubuntu and WXP but I didn't have enough free space in the virtual hard drive so I have to create a new one and install the OSs again, and I want to know if it's possible before wasting my time installing them again.
And, if it's not possible, how can I use GRUB2 without doing it in my own computer?
Thanks, I'm new here, btw.
PS: Sorry if my english is bad. It's been a long time.
