Unable to access guest TFTP server from host client

Hi,
I am running Unbuntu 12.4 on VirtualBox 4.2.6.
I have set up a standard TFTPD server on the Ubuntu guest.
VirtualBox network is set to NAT and UDP port 69 has been added as a forwarding rule.
From the Windows host I can access the guest TFTP server using localhost e.g. tftp localhost get file.
However, this does not work using the local host IP address e.g. tftp 3.27.132.95 get file. This always results in a timeout. Ping works.
Using the VirtualBox Bridged Adaptor does work. But for a number of reasons we wish to use NAT.
The same Ubuntu configuration does work when using VMWare/NAT.
I understand that VirtualBox has an internal TFTP server. Could this be causing an issue?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
