There is a bug in VBoxGuestAdditions(4.2.8 ).the display dirver can not work in the ubuntu-10.04.4-desktop-i386。My cpu is intel E7500,the OS is the windows xp sp3(x86).

What happens if you install the 4.2.8 Additions in your Ubuntu guest, which messages do appear? And please post the output of /var/log/Xorg.0.log after you rebooted your guest.
