Problem of install on "boot disk" !!!

Post by nekosystem »

Hello
I'm new to this software, and I'd like to increase the size of boot disk (X:)
Actual size is 229 Mo, and I can't install anything..

I'm under Mac osX Lion, 10.7.5, installation of Virtual Box went fine, I've installed Windows 7 32bits(light version).
But... boot disk size is only 229 mo

Please help ;)

All the Best

And what is light, again?

On 229 Megabyte you cannot have installed a win7.

And the boot partition for WinPE is normally 100 MB, it must not be bigger.

So what do you have for a crappy installation?

Ok, let's forget about the "light" thing...

Anyway, the problem is I have to install "Microsoft net Framework 4 setup.exe"
and the install program says it needs 1010Mb and I have only 124Mb free.

How can I do???

Thank you

OK, shortly answer: Use CloneVDI (search this forum for that) to increase the size. After that you must resize the partition, that works via disc plugin in the admin area of system control.

I dont really understand your problem.

Normally we use sizes like Mega Byte and Giga Byte, but not Mega Octet.

If i translate it: Octet is 8 like a Byte. But you cant install win7 on a size like 229 MB.

If you are talking about the system reserved partition you can not install there. See screenshot. It is a small partition that Windows uses to boot the OS and you need to install to the normal partition

No you don't understand. You can not install to the system reserved partition if that is what you are wanting to do. Other than that you will need to explain what you have and what you were told to do and why. I know of no software that tries to do this. Even setting up a dual boot where information is actually written to the reserved partition, Windows does this and not the install program.

Yes I understand, but it will be easier for me to explain my problem with screenshots,
tomorrow when I will be allowed to.

Thank you for your help

You can attach screen shot files now as an attachment. Just not urls for off site files.
