lorddalron, I have exactly the same issue but the host OS is Windows 7. Can't hit enter after the first reboot, then (after forcing a restart) can't progress from the low graphics warning and subsequent options :v

Any help from you guys would be appreciated.

Hi guys, apologies for taking so long to come back to you. Ive been very busy.

Back to the problem. Well, i have it sorted. After getting really frustrated, i thought to myself, try and install and earlier version and see if i could upgrade that way.

So, i went on to Ubuntu Release, downloaded and installed 11.04 and that installed first time, no problems. Once installed, it prompted me to upgrade, i did, and again, success. That got me to 11.10.

After going into the upgrade manager, the option was there again for another update, this time, 12.04 which i needed. i upgraded and hey presto. installed first time round. No problems, no low graphic errors. Zero.

Thanks anyway for th previous help and again, sorry in the delay in getting back to you all.

Darren

Darren,
I'm also having the same problem with using ubuntu-12.04.2-desktop-i386 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine running VirtualBox 4.2.8.

However, Using ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386.iso works just as expected. There's no need to go all the way back to 11.04.

I had the same problem, and I solved it by using the 64-bit version instead of the 32-bit. I am on Mac OSX. HTH.
