Mounting exfat usb stick in linux guest and win8 host

Post by lvg »

I have Debian and Ubuntu vms in win8 machine. my vb is 4.2.6.
I have an USB drive formatted in exfat. I have shared a folder in the drive in win8 and used shared folders of vb to list it. But in ubuntu the folder is not recognized.
I get msg
ERROR: Failed to open 'PhotosVideosH'.
PhotosVideosH is shared folder. I have already installed necessary fuse exfat files from another repository.
Any solutions?

Try using a simpler share name, one that doesn't have mixed capitalization (except in the first letter, e.g. Shared).
