just a follow-up on what I said earlier. the last thing I installed was Manjaro 0.8.4 Cinnamon (Arch) which was constantly aborting for some unknown reason. I increased the video memory to 64 MB and lo and behold it has stopped aborting. I guess the theory that 24-32MB Video ram for a Linux guest no longer holds true.
