Host - Guest Networking

I installed Virtualbox 4.2 on my Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate host. After deployment I added a RHEL 6.1 64-bit virtual machine on VirtualBox.

Now, I need to ssh to the RHEL machine from my Windows 7 host. I added a Host only network to the virtual machine and set the IP to be procured via DHCP for the Guest. Somehow, my guest is able to ping and connect to my Windows 7 host but not vice versa. There is no way I could connect to my RHEL 6 guest via SSH despite disabling firewall and trying other troubleshooting steps.

Here's my host system network info:

My guest somehow picks an IP address in 10.0.2.x network:

Let me know if any more information is required. And I'll be glad to provide the same.

It looks like you've configured your Guest to use NAT.
Either forward ports to the guest in the Virtualbox config or switch to Host-Only / Bridged, depending on your needs.
More info can be found in the User Manual on the specifics of the network modes.
