Hello,
Sure this seems basic, but I neither have an ISO nor a CD but rather an .exe file for Windows 7 that I'd like to install on my Mac. It doesn't seem clear to me how I should go about doing this, because when I look at the options VB seems to only want a specified file format or CD/DVD, neither of which I have.
Thanks!

No such thing as an install exe for Windows 7.

A .exe file is a executable program which runs under Windows. How would you run it before Windows was installed?

Re: Installing Windows on Virtual Box using an exe file
My campus gives us access to software from a server, and since I have access to Windows 7 as a download I thought I'd see if it worked. And sure enough the file is a .5gb .exe file: windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe. How else would I go about doing this from a Mac?

According to this link Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) what you have is the Service Pack 1 file used to update an existing installation of Windows 7.
