Debian VM: No offering set-up

Hi,
This may sound trivial: I set-up my Debian VM going through the usual steps in VB, and used a 6.0.6 ISO file for Debian. However, when I run the VM for the first time, its supposed to allow me to do some settings, not the least of which, set the users passwords. In this case, however, the VM directly starts the machine and goes into the login window for the 'debian' user (who I obviously do not know the default password for, and have not set one, for, anyway).
Any ideas about this? Can the problem be in the image file I am using? Please advise.
