Hello group,
I have just installed ubuntu studio 12.04 as an guest in Windows Virtualbox and had to see it runs unusuable slow.
I think this is because of the realtime kernel.
Can I have realtime performance in an guest on an windows host or ist this not possible?

Re: ubuntu low latency guest slow
Obviously the guest can't be more "realtime" than the host. I can tell you that unusually high timer interrupt frequencies in a Linux guest has been known in the past to cause a large context switching overhead and very poor performance. Whether this has happened or not in your case I have no way to know with the little information provided. You can try other VM variants to see if they give better performance, e.g. with IO APIC on, and VT-x on.

A simple posting of the guests log (as an attachment) file will probably tells use what is necessary.
See Online Users Manual for the location of the file.
