Hello everyone,

I am trying to connect two virtual machines using bridged network

Currently I have Virtualbox set up on windows 8 operating system. Two vms are backtrack and windows 7

settings, network, bridged network - i cannot see my network card other than "Not selected"

My vms are not getting proper IP address other than 10.0.2.15

Bridged networking requires a VirtualBox filter to be installed. It should show up as an enabled service on the host NIC properties. Enable it if present and not checked. If not present then install VirtualBox again in admin mode.

If that doesn't solve it then zip up the .vbox files from both VMs and post the zip here as an attachment.

Also: if you use bridged networking then the VM is just another PC on your network, and its IP addresses are assigned in the same way as your host, typically by a external router. VirtualBox does not assign IP addresses in bridged mode.

If you just want to network the VMs together then consider using internal or host-only networking - details in the manual.
