Not seen the shared path

Hi,
I am using Vbox 4.2.6 and I've shared one path of the host to the Vbox but I don't know why I don't see it within Win 2008 server that is residing in the Vbox.

Same as mapping a serverdrive on a client computer.
VB mapping name something like \\Vboxsvr\d_drive.

I did share this to the Vbox like t332.png. But then I've got the message shown by t333.png. Why?

Your shared folder has the logical name "shared", not "c_shared" like in your screenshot.

What do you see if you navigate to \\vboxsrv?

I get the same issue when going to
\\Vboxsrv

The vbox "server" name is vboxsvr, not vboxsrv

I still manage to create that typing error myself after all these years. I think the first time was in 2005 with Vbox 1.0.42 :D

My shared folder shows in the main file manager of Windows 7 if you click computer. Also it is \\vboxsrv. If you do not see this then the guest additions are not installed or installed properly.

Any further help will require a guest log (as an attachment) and the following:
From the hosts terminal/command window type VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> --details and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use " " if the name has a space in it.

Note if the host is Windows you need to be in the directory that has VBoxManage.exe for the command to work.

You have not given me the guests log file (as an attachment) yet but I see the install media is still in the virtual CD/DVD drive. Since you would need to remove that to install the guest additions I am going to say your problem is that you have not installed them yet. Other wise provide the guests log file ( as an attachment) if you need further help.
