Hello,
I experiencing high cpu usage on process: VirtualBox Interface after a couple hours of usage even if both OSs are idle with nothing running.
I am running a Ubuntu 12.04 guest on Windows 8 host.
I also notice after I close VirtualBox, the process: VirtualBox Interface is still running in the background with the same CPU usage for some time.
Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this?

Re: VirtualBox Interface - High CPU Usage
Pause the Windows 8 guest and see what happens.

Thanks for the reply,
I will pause the Ubuntu 12.04 Guest OS after I recreate the issue later today (needs a couple hours of running to recreate).

Re: VirtualBox Interface - High CPU Usage
Hello,
I tried you scenario of pausing the Ubuntu Guest OS, but the Virtuabox Inteface process is still consuming the same amount of CPU on the Win8 host OS. After closing virtualbox, the same same process hangs around consuming CPU. I have to force the process close. Any suggestions on what to do?

Re: VirtualBox Interface - High CPU Usage
Found the problem. Inserting/removing usb devices trigger high CPU usage on Virtualbox Inteface. The device can be a flash drive or mouse/keyboard.
Is this a known issue?

Re: VirtualBox Interface - High CPU Usage
No idea. I don't see this issue but then again Windows 8 has a lot of chatter going on all by itself. There is no such thing as idle time with it. Too many app screen updates going on. If you can document the steps and are confident that you have the steps to reproduce I would post a ticket at bugtrackerbluskye wrote:Found the problem.
