Hi,
we have a virtualbox running on an ubuntu system, and then scientific linux SL5.7 installed.
The SL5.7 server is on a gigabit connection but only achieves a maximal transfer speed of 12MB/s.
It looks like the bottleneck is the virtualbox. Can this be tested and is there a fix to make use of the gigabit connection to the outside world?
The transfer speed directly from ubuntu is about 55MB/s. SL5.7 could not be installed directly.
Thanks,
André

Moved to "Linux Guests".
If you want to maximize network performance, then using the VirtIO-net NIC type is best.
