VirtualBox Crashes during Windows Guest installation
VirtualBox is crashing during the "Completing Installation" part in Windows 7 and 8. The reason according to the error is the "MSVCR100.dll" file. Is there a fix for this?

Re: VirtualBox Crashes during Windows Guest installation
Give us an accurate description of the crash and perhaps we can answer that. Concentrate on whether the guest app is crashing, or the VirtualBox app on the host is crashing. To help you out we have a checklist of sorts - please see Minimum information needed for assistance.

Re: VirtualBox Crashes during Windows Guest installation
My VirtualBox Version is 4.2.6
My Host is a Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32-Bit with 4 GB RAM (2.46 Usable due to limits and APU)
The Guest is also Windows 7 Ultimate SP1/Windows 8 Pro 32-Bit with 1 GB RAM

Re: VirtualBox Crashes during Windows Guest installation
What happens if you turn off 3D acceleration in the display settings? You will have to start the Windows installation again. Don't enable 3D until you are ready to install the GAs, then follow the instructions in the user manual. Or maybe just leave it turned off (3D emulation is still experimental, I find my Win7 VMs quite usable and more stable without it).

I did NOT enable 3D Acceleration. I never even bothered looking at it. I also have tried the installation again but it showed the same result.mpack wrote:What happens if you turn off 3D acceleration in the display settings? 3D acceleration is showing as enabled in the log you provided.

Well I didn't turn it on the first time and I probably accidentally ticked it the second time but still, both times did not work.
Re: VirtualBox Crashes during Windows Guest installation
I changed the following:
Machine-->Settings--->Storage--->IDE Controller value to "ICH6" from the default value. This made my client to start smoothly.
Otherwise I was facing the Dll error issue earlier . The above setting changed the error behaviour.
