OS X restored due to failed hard drive - XP won't start
I have run VB on the iMac for a couple of years without any issues using VB to facilitate running MS based programs. Unfortunately, the hard drive on the iMac failed and was replaced. All files and apps have been restored, including VB without any issues. However, when attempting to start XP, it fails with a message 'Kernel driver not installed'. Is there any way to correct this short of reinstalling XP? Is there a repair process? Thanks

Re: OS X restored due to failed hard drive - XP won't start
I doubt that "kernel driver not installed" indicates a problem with the guest. Do any other VMs run? Old or new?
A VM log file would be useful. See Minimum information needed for assistance.

When you "restored", does that mean you installed VB again on the new drive, or that you had a Time Machine or other backup and restored the application from that? Was your XP guest in a vdi file or did you have it set up as a Boot Camp partition that you were accessing with VB?
