3d acceleration in ubuntu 12.04 LTS guest

Hi.
I'm having problems with 3d acceleration of guest system. I set up Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (x64) under Windows 7 Pro (x64) workstation equipped with nVidia Quadro FX 3800. Basically I run Salome-Meca under ubuntu (salome-platform.org). When I leave 3d acceleration box unchecked in properties of virtualBox the 3d environment of salome doesn't refresh the view. On the other hand when I enable 3d acceleration the environment runs smoothly for a while and then blinks few times. Everthing works fine except this window with 3d model, it stays black. Restarting virtualBox helps for a moment, bu then situation repeates.

I tried to chceck it on other hardware (samsung laptop with nVidia GeForce GT330M) but situation gets even harder, ubuntu hangs after logging in...

I have downloaded ubuntu and salome-meca few times and set up new virtual systems few times. I cannot get rid of this recurring problem.

Another thing which I've done was installation of freeCAD to verify if the problem is regarded only to salome or not. And I'm sure that it is software independent.

Any idea what might be the solution?

I have this same problem (similar video card, GeForce 310M running in conjunction with a Intel Graphics Cards using Nvidia Optimus). Running Win7 Pro 64 bit host, Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit guest. Graphics do not refresh in 3D mode making it useless. Any help?

Three people, three problems, no Infos.

Firstly: Dont hijack other threads before problems are solved. Every problem is different. That it does not work is not the same as for others.

So: Person 2 and 3: Make an own Thread with full infos like versions and a log file.
