dear mPack, thanks a lot for your kind reply

i m very new on vm and ubunto too.. :( but i will try to give you the answers..

please let me know if this is what you asked for :)

1. The version of VirtualBox you are using, and whether you have installed the Guest Additions (in the guest).
ans: VirtualBox Version is 4.2.6.r82870 and yes i have installed guest additions on guest vm

2. Host & Guest make and version including 32 or 64 bit, and the amount of memory available to both.
ans: my host is windows xp sp3 32 bit, and trying to use ubunto 12.0 as 64 bit guest. My host pc ram is (3.17gb) (thought is trully 4gb but as 32 bit can't suppport 4gb thus it shows 3.17gb)

3. ans: for log files and vm (guest) settings, please sir, check out the attached file..

after check, it would be great if you kindly trace out and solve the issue :)

once again thanks for your reply

and also thanks in advance for your next reply...

best regards

I see you have your VMs located on a drive G. What kind of drive is drive G?

If it is a network drive or a USB drive then slow performance is to be expected.

What happens if you enable the IO-APIC option in the VM settings? (System|Motherboard). I would also enable the VT-x and PAE/NX options (see other System tabs).

yes! it works. thanks a lot

but now i am facing two wired issues :(
1. i have set (at beginning) shared clipboard and drag & drop bi-directional.. but none of them is working on both gues os. I mean i copy text form my host os, but in win 7 64 bit or even in ubunto 64 bit paste is not available . Same issues for drag and drop too :( any idea sir?

thanks in advance..

dear sir, mPack..

it seems guest addition is not installed correctly..

i have installed few times.. restart vm, turn off and on vm.. :( but nothing works :(

for testing whenever i click on share folder icon (bottom right of vm screen) and select share folder, it's says :
" It's seems guest addition is not installed on this vm" :(

so, what should i do now?

thanks in advance

Did you actually see the installation Wizard? or did you simply click on "Install guest additions" into the VM menu?

And what does it say at the end? The exact words please.
Or attach a screenshot of the Virtualbox window.

dear sir, thanks a lot for your fast reply

once again i test both VM..

please check out the attached file for screenshot..

Current Issues:
1. On windows 7 bit, bi-drectional copy/paste and share folder is working but not the drag and drop :(
2. On Unbuntuo 64 bit none of them is working (copy/paste/share folder and also drag and drop) :(
3. and still Ubuntu vm is slower than windows vm :(

i hope i m clear.

best regards

All the information is into your screenshot, it tells you to look at /var/log/vboxadd-install.log
Take that file out of the VM and attach it here as a zip file - don't take a screenshot, we need the actual file.
