Shared Folder problems

Post by kd0 »

im trying to do a shared folder on a linux guest (linux mint 14 64bit) on windows 7 64bit host

now the share gets auto mounted in media, however i have to be root in order to access it.. thats simple enough, right click the folder and open as root... well then lies another problem, i cant copy anything back over from the shared folder to my regular user, it says Permission denied each time, and im a noob and am not sure how to do it from the terminal , i tried cp to my /home/ dir but it didnt give an error but no files got copied

is there anyway to make the shared folder non root accessible? so i dont gota be root just to open it?

Add your user name to the vboxsf group on the guest. Reboot.
