Somehow I deleted the dvd drive--virtual box, on start up warns me they arent accessible.. How do I re attach it? It appears its greyed out

Shut down (not suspend) the VM. In VM settings | Storage you add an IDE controller (if it isn't already there) by clicking the Add Controller icon at the bottom of the Storage Tree pane. Then select the controller and click the "Add CD/DVD device" button beside it.
