win8 upgrade from 7 ruin VBoxNetAdp?

Post by yurij_web »

I think this is very common problem described below, i wonder if there is some wiki or FAQ update on this question?
After upgrade win from 7 to 8 get troubled with Virtulbox. all bridged adapters disappeared from VBox setting page (so it's quite normal after changing of principal host network config with upgrade processus) and i haven't option to select new adapters from virtualbox network setting page (that is actually problem) the dropdown menu is empty, shows only "not selected" for bridged adapter option. Do i need reinstall virtualbox for the good? In windows8 device manager network adapter virtualbox is marked as malfunctioned cause driver.

Code: Select all

VBoxNetAdp.sys
driver is not digitally signed may be it missplaced cause of it? I have also one driver not signed and reported by

Code: Select all

sigverif
that is

Code: Select all

 netwnc64.dll
Where should I seek for new virtualbox Host-only network adapter drivers for win8?
Thanks for your reply, if i solve the problem i will post solution to the IT blog

Have you tried to uninstall VBOX and install the newest version 4.2.6? Else if installed, try it.

I did an upgrade from Win 7 Pro x64 to Win 8 Pro x64 and did not see that problem.

Does your NIC work properly in Win 8 (apart from the VirtualBox problem)? It looks like the filter driver did not install properly. Does it show as installed and active in the NIC properties (from Network and Sharing Center in the host OS)?

I would shut down all the vms and re-install VirtualBox (as Stefan recommended).

I think the problem was provoked while upgrade processus i choose
remove intelPROset wireless unsupported by w8
that remove not only wireless driver but also corrupt a VboxAdpt driver as well.
