I have a guest VM which is 64bit openSUSE 11.4 (Kernel 2.6.37.6-0.11). This successfully runs when using VirtualBox 4.2.1 r80871, but after I upgrade to 4.2.6 the VM no longer starts successfully. Instead I see a number of kernel panics in the boot up log.
The MBP I am using has the following hardware overview:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro6,1
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 8 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s
Boot ROM Version: MBP61.0057.B0F
SMC Version (system): 1.57f17
Hardware UUID: D158FD37-49DB-5CD9-91D5-3760AB7F9164
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled
Any pointers would be appreciated.

You might consider attaching a (zipped) copy of the VBox.log file which may have some clues as to what's going wrong.
