I'm doing a simulation project in Networking.. I need to create a VLAN, which has an integrated openvswitch, using Virtualbox. Can anyone please tell me the steps to be followed to integrate openVswitch in virtualbox and to create a VLAN... please help me out to complete this and thank you.

Hi Oracle_Raam
Can't help with VLAN's yet but I've managed to get Virtualbox and Openvswitch playing nicely on my Linux Mint laptop (any Ubuntu 12.10 based distro should use the same basic instruction set).
I used 2 blog posts to get this setup. Can't actually post the links due to forum rules. But search for blog dot allanglesit dot com and search for KVM Ubuntu 12.10 and Openswitch and you should find it. If you read post #35 in the first link it's a post from me outlining the tweaks I used on the basic instructions for a virtualbox only setup (the instructions are KVM specific).
I had some fun and games getting it setup even with the excellent instructions above but that was down to some basic networking errors in my pfsense install which clouded the issue.
You didn't mention your host OS but hopefully the above can point you in the right direction at least.Someone with more knowledge than I can hopefully chip in with info on the VLAN side of things but the Openvswitch site should have the base information you need to start off with.
