Help with internet connection

Hey guys,

Was looking for some info on this but didn't see it. I recently installed virtual box and a program called Whonix to be run inside virtual box. I am not sure but I THINK I restarted my computer and then my internet would no longer connect. The wi-fi shows up and all other devices in home connect except for mine. I uninstalled virtual box in an attempt to fix it to no avail. So doing some digging I THINK maybe I found my problem in this article that basically is saying my IP registry values were overwritten? Again this is way over my head.

I had installed VirtualBox 4.2.6 for Windows and am running Windows XP version 5.1 SP3, I would really appreciate any help getting my connection fixed so I can try this again here... Let me know if you need any other info, thank you.

VirtualBox is a portable app (meaning it also runs on hosts other than Windows), hence it doesn't use non portable features like the Windows registry. In any case VirtualBox also doesn't care about IP addresses: VBox simulates hardware, IP addresses are a software protocol thing.

Your issue sounds the same as one I answered yesterday.
