VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration

I have installed onto my brand new HP laptop running Windows 8.

I am getting the following message;

VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration has been enabled, but is not operational. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.

Please ensure that you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V properly in the BIOS of your host computer.

Any clues how to fix this? Again, it is a new computer. Just bought tonight. Now changes have been made to the computer.

If you have Windows 8, the first thing to check is whether Hyper-V is enabled. If it is, Hyper-V will have locked hardware virtualization.

I went into Window Features (Win+R... appwiz.cpl... Programs and Features... Turn Windows features on or off) to see if is turned on, or off, and it is not listed.

Start the host PC into bios and enable hardware virtualization.

In the past, with previous OS, one can go into the bios during the boot process. No such option is available with Windows 8. Any ideas how one gets into the bios in 8?

Did some research about bios access. Found it. Enabled virtulization.

Got a different message... No bootable media found. So I will get out my Windows XP and see how to install it.

THANKS !!!! :D
