I've just made a new VM machine by doing a complete install of Windows, but I noticed that this time my screen resolution will only go to 1152x864. If I take it any higher, I get double scrollbars on my screen. Also, the resolutions offered are completely different than my old machine which went up to 1920x976. I'm not offered that resolution this time for some reason.
What's more is, I can't seem to install Guest Additions as when I click on it, nothing happens.
Is there a connection between the two and how do I solve these problems?

Yes there is a connection. The guest additions need to be installed. If you have clicked install the guest additions and nothing happens it usually means that autorun has been disabled on the guest. Use the file manager and start them manually.

I'm a newb at this stuff. What file manager are you talking about and how do I start it manually?

Re: Screen Resolution Problems
The guests file manager. (My Computer) icon in the desktop or the (start run) section. Once it is open look for the CD/DVD drive and select the additions.

Thanks. That seems to have worked.
