VB is an x86 based app. Windows 2008R2 is a x64 bit OS. Doing some research I only see information for installing win 2008 on virtualbox but not the other way.

Is it possible to install VirtualBox on Windows 2008R2?

Any special tricks I have to use?

No. Just download from the VirtualBox download site and install. The same download works for both 32 and 64 bit versions (as stated on the website).
