I am running a XP Virtual box and used a second USB keyboard (Cherry with card reader) until 4 weeks without problems. All of a sudden this keyboard was no longer recognized. As all my tries to fix this problem did not help so i went back to a recent backup and it worked again. From that time i did not allow XP updates as i feared this caused the problem but since Saturday again all tries to connect this keyboard or any other USB device fails.

What can i do to solve this?

Right now i tried again with no success but when i looked at the devices pull down menu of the menu bar then i found the keyboard shaded. So i went to the change option of the machine and was able to add the USB device (last time that window did not open!) and voila it works again!
This misterios behavior took half a day of my life (at least)!
