Hi all,
I have a "USB PNP sound device" (description as in device manager) which I want to attach to my Windows XP guest.
I am using the latest VBox 4.2.6
I tried attaching the device by the properties -> USB filter -> add the USB PNP sound device.
As soon as the guest sees the device it freezes together with the VB manager.
I tried attaching the device with devices same issue.
I am running XP with SP3, after I updated the OS (windows XP updates) the situation changed a little bit.
When I attach a device now it says -> device claimed.
But thats all it does.
When I attach another USB device (storage or keyboard) there is no problem.
The actions I already did:
Started XP with audio enabled/disabled
USB audio fail in XP guest on W7 host

Re: USB audio fail in XP guest on W7 host
There is a bug with USB Audio cards. This bug freezes the host and the Virtualbox manager.
You should look on the forum via google search "site:forums.virtualbox.org usb audio" and on the bugtracker for the relevant tickets.
