VT-x/AMD-V hardware is not accessible?

Post by Milkshakes28 »

I recently wanted to use virtualbox and I have used it for a long time, but for some reason (even if I updated) it gives me this error message :VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration has been enabled, but is not operational. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.

Please ensure that you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V properly in the BIOS of your host computer.

If you want to log here it is:

I have disabled and enabled the virtual machine thing in the bios and I have updated virtual box I haven't updated my bios though. I am not sure what the bios version is but I know the company who made it.

No much more can be said - you must enable Virtualization in your BIOS.
Also, make sure no other product is locking the Virtualization feature - VMware, etc..

I have disable and enabled it 30 times already, also I don't have any other VM ware running on my computer.I did at one point enable hyper-v and tried that but it didn't work so I disabled it. I also have 3 operating systems does this effect it?

You probably still have the hyper-v service running in the background. It's up to you to fix this since only you have access to your PC for a close check of the process list, and only you know what software you installed.

ps. In future please post logs in complete form as .zip attachments. Do not paste text, and certainly don't paste extracts.
