Screen resolution

Hi,

I installed windows 8 on a macbook pro and just now I modified the screen resolution since I could not view a simple jpeg with the screen resolution as it was set. And so I changed it and I cannot revert it back to how it was, it's greyed out.

What can I do with this? :P

Are you talking about the host or the guest resolution?

Hi,

I was talking about the guest resolution but the problem solved itself by rebooting the virtual box...

I also installed properly the guest additions. Maybe that helped.

Guest additions helps with copy and paste from host to guest.

All in all, virtual box is pretty cool. I like my macbook pro with windows 8... :D

Yes, that too. The point of guest additions (and similar additions for other virtualization products) is to add features to the OS in the vm so that it functions better in a vm. When you first install the OS in the vm it is the standard OS which was designed to run on a standalone machine. It needs a bit of tuning to run well in a vm.

Thanks for that info. It runs very well, and a little better with the guest additions...

I feel like I have the best of both worlds. Windows for things that I like to do in windows. And mac for audiovisual stuff.
The virtual box is certainly helping the transition from pc to mac. I used to be on mac, left for pc, back to mac. If it wasn't for the virtual box I feel that I would be missing certain aspects of the pc. But there I have it on the mac.
