Snow Leopard Installation

Post by Nasty Fingers »

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone can clear this up for me. After many hours of searching the forum and googling I am still confused and have not found anyone asking the same question.

Am I able to install my REAL retail copy of Snow Leopard (not server) as a virtual machine on my real Mac, and if so, how?

I have had no issue installing and using several Windows virtual machines, just this osx one doesn't want to play ball.

I have tried systematically changing all the settings, one at a time, with varying results. Basically though no matter what I have tried the machine hangs on a black screen and various different text output dependant on settings.

Currently the line its hangs on is [PCI Configuration Begin] after some rather promising sounding output regarding kexts etc.

The Mac is running 10.8.2 and VB 4.2.6 r82870.

Not sure what logs if any will be of use so if you need anything just let me know.

If anyone can shed light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Only the server version is supported.
Also please read Important notice regarding Mac OS X as Guest - a non-server version is against Apple's SLA and any post of this matter will be locked.
