Dear all,

I have debian sid and i run last milestone of VB,Everything is OK. I compiled kernel 3.7.0 or even 3.8 rc2 and then run

Code: Select all

/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
Unfortunately, when i run it, kernel crashed.

Question: Did you customize VB for generic kernel? Can i use it for 3.7.0 that myself compiled?

It does work if properly done. You need to build the headers and supporting image/s.
Keep in mind that only stock kernels are supported by VirtualBox but if done properly your kernel should work. At least the 3.7.*, I am not sure that 3.8 will in anything except development versions and not reliable even at that.
