Configure RDP Auth on Mac OS X Host
Posted: 9. Jan 2013, 07:04
All,
I'm attempting to configure authentication -- pretty much any kind at this point -- with a Mac OS X
host, VirtualBox, and RDP. (Mountain Lion, specifically.)
VirtualBox 4.2.6. Extension Pack installed.
I'm using the Microsoft RDP client from the same host for testing.
I can connect with NULL authentication and it works fine, but obviously that's not really viable for
anything but basic internal testing.
External authentication (using my auth creds for the Mac host) fails.
Simple authentication (configured per Chapter 7) fails.
Guest authentication (using auth creds from the guest) fails.
When the connection fails, I get the usual uninformative error from RDP:
"You were disconnected from the Windows-based computer. Someone with access to the Windows-based computer
may have ended the connection, or the Windows-based computer has dropped the connection."
I've done a similar configuration on Ubuntu, and it just works.
Any pointers would be appreciated. Following the directions on the Web pages just isn't resulting in happiness here.
Thanks,
Eric
